Lore
- Live on clouds near mountains on Dinwy Nomutinas.
- Chorui are the holders of the Elder Tempest.
- Chorui are intensely territorial, this intensity varies depending on the subspecies.
- Various subspecies interact differently with other species:
- Mokin Chorui are very aggressive while Rakai are non-aggressive until provoked.
- Mokin have a tendency to use non magical abilities while Rakai tend to use magic.
- Mokin and Rakai follow the same spiritual beliefs but vary in their practices.
- While each type of Chorui have their own clans they are beholden to the eagles and their advisors, the owls, and the court mages, the Corvids.
- The owls, or the Parliament, keep track of the goings on in the clans and nearby humanoid settlements. While the corvids are the magical advisors the owls take part in light wizardry in order to better spy. They frequently make use of the invisibility spell along with a unique magic special only to those in Parliament to muffle their noises to near complete silence.
- The court mages are the Corvids and advise the eagles in magical matters. These Chorui are mainly scholars, druids, and clerics. Each of these groups specialize in a type of magic to better advise the eagles.
- The druids keep track of the balance of nature as well as upkeep the mountains they hunt on.
- The clerics maintain their connection to the spirit realm and are responsible for the burial of all Chorui. This is part of the reason they are so territorial as the mountains are their burial grounds for their dead. Each clan has their own mountain and shrine hidden in their territory.
- Scholars despite the implication cannot cast any magic and are expressly forbidden from doing so. They study the way magic works and how to better harness it for the gain of the Chorui race. The reason they are forbidden from casting is due to the volatile nature of wizard magic. They learned early on when the old rulers of the Chorui were whipped out by an unbalanced spell.
- They were once ruled by the Kyoru, a long dead race of Chorui that had the body of dinosaurs instead of birds. They were said to be the most powerful physically, mentally, and magically among the Chorui. No one knows why they were whipped out but they do know that it was a fledgeling wizard that caused it.
- The hole in the mountains of Dinwy were caused by the explosion that killed the Kyoru and let in the humanoids.
