Homebrew Chameleon Dragonborn Species Details
Appearing like other dragonborn, but with much slimmer and shorter frames, Chameleon Dragonborn almost seemed to appear out of nowhere. Their scales are much smaller than a normal dragonborn's, giving them a shiner and sleeker appearance. Their scales also tend to take on colours that match their emotions, although this tends to be with much younger Chameleon Dragonborn, as the older they get, the more they gain control of their own scale appearance.; without emotional or internal adjustment, these dragonborn have dull grey or almost silvery scales. Their faces are often very angular, with a pouch beneath their jaw near their neck and a large horn/frill at the back of their head, much like a regular chameleon; the pouch is what holds their acid spit.

Draconic Ancestry
You have draconic ancestry. As a Chameleon Dragonborn, you gain an Acid Spit rather than a Breath Weapon and gain resistance to acid damage.
Your Acid Spit can travel 10ft before exploding and causing anyone within a 5ft radius to make a DEX saving throw. Otherwise, it explodes upon contact with the first thing it touches.
Acid Spit
As a Chameleon Dragon, you can hurl a glob of spit toward a chosen enemy within 10ft of you, causing it and anyone within a 5ft radius of it to make a Dexterity saving throw. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 acid damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level. After you use your breath weapon, you can’t use it again until you complete a short or long rest.
Damage Resistance
You gain resistance to acid damage.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and Draconic. Draconic is thought to be one of the oldest languages and is often used in the study of magic. The language sounds harsh to most other creatures and includes numerous hard consonants and sibilants.
