Homebrew Batztirkoçên Species Details

"As the sun beats down mercilessly upon the endless sands of Welagir, a lone observer watches from the shelter of a rocky outcrop. Below, a tribe of Batztirkoçên move with purposeful determination, their figures shimmering like mirages in the desert heat. Cloaked in colourful fabrics and adorned with masks of intricate design, some in the shape of hound-like figures and others shaped like sunbursts, others entirely unique. They blend seamlessly with the arid landscape, their movements fluid and graceful.

*THUMP*

The leader of the tribe, a seasoned hunter with eyes like smouldering coals, raises a prosthetic hand in a silent command, the observer squints and see the hand is a mix of old, rusted digits and wooden filigree. The tribe fans out in a practiced formation, their curved prosthetics legs not making a sound as the deftly leap across the sands, their Maanfluctus rifles glinting in the harsh light. With swift and silent precision, they track their quarry, their senses finely attuned to the subtlest of movements in the shifting sands.

*THUMP*

The observer hears a shrill cry and war gongs pound.

*THUMP*

The hunt progresses, the tension in the air is palpable, each member of the tribe poised for action.

*THUMP

Suddenly, a sharp, guttural cry pierces the stillness, a hulking reptilian form bursts forth from the red sand beneath them, the creature is the scorned Marêqûmê, ancestral prey of the Batztirkoçên. With a fierce determination, the Batztirkoçên spring into action, their movements a blur of speed and skill.

The observer watches in awe as the tribe works together with a harmonious efficiency, their actions guided by generations of tradition and instinct. It's a sight that speaks to the resilience and resourcefulness of the Batztirkoçên people, a testament to their mastery of the harsh desert environment they call home.

Finally with the last beat of a drum, the hunt is concluded as the tribes leader hoists the dead creatures carcass above his head, cheering from the masses follow as they enjoy the fruits of another successful hunt, this creatures hide will certainly sell well."

Shrouded History

The Batztirkoçên have lived in Welagir as far as records go back, predating the largest Welagirian culture of the Hilgiric's and possibly all others. They conversate little with the men and women of Welagir, besides when trading. Though they have taken well to the nomadic Voidborn that roam the border between Welagir and Cruoria to avoid persecution. Finding kinship in this other people certain tribes took them in and intermingled with them, producing some Batztirkoçên with Umbramancy rather than their traditional Pyromancy. Their language is the precursor to modern Welgiri, and most can understand the basics of what they are trying to communicate, though it is much softer and quiet than Welagiri, this is due to their need to stay silent in lieu of a possible Marêqûmê attack.

Deft Hunters

The Batztirkoçên are extremely adept in the hunt, knowing every weakness in an enemy or prey weeks before the first shot of a rifle is fired. They have evolved to be able to live off the land while remaining hidden from the dreaded Marêqûmê, they will stop at no lengths to hone their bodies into potent weapons, no matter the cost. The latest evolution of this brazen adaptation is that of their prosthetics and bodily augmentations. This is really the only reason the Batztirkoçên ever venture into permanent settlements, in search of these surgeons. Whether is is the replacement of legs for faster and silent movement, the replacement of arms for strength, the removing of nerves to not feel pain or the implantation of metal plates inside their backs, Batztirkoçên will only settle for the best, and are willing to pay a premium price for it.

Hardy appearance

The skin of a Batztirkoçên ranges from a deep, ruddy orange hue to a light gold with the texture of sand paper, they have sharp, angular features with areas where jagged bone protrudes. Their head is shaped largely like a humans except for a central crest that follows down from their forehead to their neck. Their eyes range from charcoal black, to woody brown, to sea blue. They have a second set of sideways, translucent eyelids that can be closed to block out sand but still see. They tend to have square shoulders, thinner, longer biceps and mid-arm region then block forearms and hands. The Batztirkoçên tend to stand a bit taller than the average human, standing between 5'8 and up to 7 feet.

They like to adorn themselves with mostly light beige fabrics with colourful designs, wooden masks that tend to be either animal shaped, or have intricate patterns carved into them, and head scarves that cover those masks.
