Homebrew Cat (Awakened) Species Details
For reasons perhaps unknown, you once were a normal being of Felis catus but now you have been granted sentience and the ability to walk within a humanoid way and speech. You retain the size of a house cat which can vary, but when upright you are a small creature that may be only 2-3 feet tall. Your paws while retaining the normal shapes, now can have the dexterity of opposable thumbs and feet, your tail giving you natural balance which many see as graceful. Those with polydactyl paws seem to gain an extra bit of dexterous holding in their paws.
Now given the capability to speak and communicate many have used their naturally cunning and mischievous ways to become spies and rogues, able to switch between a normal feline form and mannerisms to infiltrate and then employ a bipedal stance to fight and tinker with events. There were rumors of a famous awakened feline who wore large boots and fought with a rapier, but now many regard this as only a tall tale or story for children.
The lifespans of these individuals can vary, many often burning through their rumored nine lives in adventure, but those who take a less dangerous lifestyle have been known to live to around 50 years.
