Homebrew Beryll Species Details

The Beryll are a complete enigma, no entity in the entire multiverse knows anything about them. The only thing that is known about them is they are some variant of human that has completely lost that which defines a "human". This claim is backed up by many "victims" describing their actions as 'cold', 'illogical', and even 'mysterious'. A local journalist who has been investigating a supposed Bern has agreed to share what she has saw with our scholars,

"Yea I was investigating these creeps, supposedly one of them had been seen near Small Grove. I do my usual thing of enter a local tavern filled with adventures who are supposedly looking for some giant bug that can cut a iron golem in two swipes. Though I'm not here for a bug, so I began my investigation by asking the barkeeper if he has seen any strange humanoids lately. To my surprise he corrected me by saying recently, and pointed to the dent that is engraved in the wooden support beam just above the front door. He says a weird guy barged through the door like a madman, looked around the room for a minute then left out the door, accidently banging its head against the beam forgetting its own height. I ask what was so weird about him, the keeper stated that his appearance gave a creepy and unsettling energy just by staring at him. His head and face were both shrouded behind a heavy hood, his skin appeared metallic in origin and his arms were so long that he could touch his own knees while standing straight up. Once the barkeep told me those exact details I knew that what I have been looking for was here not that long ago. I learned from the drunk patron to my right that he went straight to Small Grove, my heart almost skipped a beat as my best friend and her husband live there. Though I was taken aback by his drunken remarks of supposed demon worship of the nine hells. I dash out the front door leaving most in the dust trail, even passing a local priest whilst sneezing during his prayer. Sadly I........... I got there to late, the.... the...th..... the village was red, red blood almost everywhere. None were spared, the entire scene described DEATH, the only thought that appeared in my mind was DEATH, and whoever did this had the sole intention of DEATH. I heard screams coming from the other side of where I was at, when i got around my heart sank as I saw my friends house along with her husband whose corpse is split right down the middle with a clean cut, both his hand clenching a pitchfork. A babies cries can be heard from the second story, and the screams of my friend Agni can be heard pleading to what ever unstoppable force inside the home to spare her child. That her screams stop, then a f.. ff... few mm... mmo, she pauses for a very long time, talk about wasting our time. I'm sorry, I..... I cant continue with the story. Its too... too hurtful to talk about."

Even though we couldn't get the full account from what happened at Small Grove, we sent a team of specialized wizards to investigate the scene. 

She was right, this place is red, though dry red. The corpses do scream death as well, to put this place plainly, death. We are now investigating the supposed house of Agni, or what's left of it. The whole home seems to have vanished with only a few remaining doo bobs and support beams, though we did find out what happened to the baby. It appears a unknown force of energy disintegrated most of the baby, and I say most as there appears to be a single small finger partially covered by a ashen blanket. 

Moments later a lazy apprentice decided to get thirsty and tried to drink water out he well, as clumsy and stupid as they are, he falls in, but to our surprise we don't here a splash, only a loud thud and the screams of pain coming from below. After getting down there, the team thought they had discovered a area for demon worship, but they were wrong as in the center of the large cavern was a red circle with decapitated cow heads on eleven pikes surrounding the circle. Here is what the onsite wizard has to said

 This place must have been used to summon some dark creature, most likely used two to three months ago, the only thing of note other than the creepy circle and cow heads is the collapsed tunnel that is in the direction of the ruined house. There also appears to be a scythe like appendage from some unknown creature half buried in the rubble. Another apprentice tried to pry it out with his hand, only to loose them from grasping the sharp side, what amazed me though is they fell of like a pair of cheese. Just whatever this creature is must have been a pain to fight. 

Our team vacate the area, and right when they are two to four kilometers/miles away, a heavy bass can be heard from the direction of Small Grove. Our turned to see what was making that noise, then out of the sky came a flash of dark blue and then the whole of Small Grove was eviscerated in a single blast from a unknown source.

This one event just goes to show the cruelty and the secrecy of the Beryll.
