Homebrew Infali(Infernal Mothfolk) Species Details

The Infali(Infernal Mothfolk) used to be normal Lepali(Mothfolk) until they were cursed by a demon. The story goes that a demon, trying to live a peaceful life, was suddenly attacked by an assassin. The demon won the battle, but not before his true identity was revealed, so he asked the assassin who sent him, and he said that a Lepali settlement sent him. This was a lie, but the demon believed it, and he started to go towards the innocent Lepali. Once he got there he cursed everyone in that settlement, their wings setting ablaze and their eyes turning a fiery orange. As he asked him why he was doing this, he soon realized that the assassin lied to him to save his own people, but unfortunately the deed was done, and the Infali were born. Afterwards the demon would help the Infali get used to their new lives, being very regretful for what he had done to these innocent people, and left to go find the assassin to drag him to hell for what he did, after making sure the Infali could take care of themselves. The demon would then try everything to remove the curse from their bloodline while also stopping them from succumbing to their demonic instincts. The demon did find a cure, but it required a great sacrifice, himself. And so, to do one final act of good for the Infali, he killed himself so they can use his parts for the cure, and while most were cured, some choose to stay they way they were, while for some they simply couldn’t get enough of the cure, and were forced to stay that way.
Almost all Infali have orange wings made with fire, but some rare cases have shown that their wings can be any color imaginable, and span much larger than that of normal Lepali. Their eyes are the pretty much same as their non- demonic counterparts, with large insectiod eyes with small fire colored pupils. Their fur on their arms and legs have turned red, orange, or even gold in some cases, and their skin has become a charcoal black or ash grey. Their antennae have burned of due to their transformation, but have instead become really sensitive to any form a heat.

Infali(Infernal Mothfolk) Traits

As a Infali you gain the following traits.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light like you are in bright light and darkness like you are in dim light up to 60ft.

Moth Magic

You learn the dancing lights cantrip. You can also cast the Guiding Bolt or Farie Fire spell once per long rest. Wisdom is your spell casting ability for these.

Blindsight

Due to your sensitivity to heat, you have blindsight up to 20 ft., but it can be obscured by anything that can produce heat or anything that can conceal it.(Disadvantages on people wearing heavy armor and you can’t see anything that can’t produce heat)

Extra Arms

You have an extra set of weaker arms that can’t hold heavy objects but can do small tasks.

Distracted Eyes

You have advantage when doing a perception check to notice a different kind of light in the dark, however you have to roll a DC 15 Intelligence saving throw when someone uses the dancing lights cantrip or you will be put into a trance. This trance lasts for as long as the lights do and in this state you can’t do anything. Someone can try to end this trance early by attacking you or using their action to shake you out of the trance.

Wings

While your wings can’t be used to fly due to them being made of fire, you can do a devastating attack in which you wrap your wings around an opponent to grapple them and deal constant fire damage (5(d6) per turn) and requires a DC 15 (disadvantages to smaller or same size targets and advantages to the bigger targets) to escape. Once inside your target can’t escape and you can’t do anything other than a bonus action to end the effect early. The only way this effect ends is if the target dies, if you end it early, or if someone attacks you while doing so, and you will have to do a strength check in order to keep your grip on the target. You can also use your wings to heal you and another person(3(d4)per turn) and has the same effects as before.
