Homebrew Amber Dragonborn Species Details
Found in ancient forests. Amber dragonborn have wooden bark-like skin which is a brown-grey like those of the trees with which they surround themselves or orange like the amber for which they get tier names. Herbivores that feed on the bark, leaves and sap of the trees. Amber dragonborn are normally protectors and caretakers of their home forest.

Age
Young dragonborn grow quickly. They walk hours after hatching, attain the size and development of a 10-year-old human child by the age of 3, and reach adulthood by 15. They live to be around 80.
Alignment
Dragonborn tend to extremes, making a conscious choice for one side or the other in the cosmic war between good and evil (represented by Bahamut and Tiamat, respectively). Most dragonborn are good, but those who side with Tiamat can be terrible villains.
Size
Dragonborn are taller and heavier than humans, standing well over 6 feet tall and averaging almost 250 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Poison Resistance
You have advantage on saving throws against poison, and you have resistance to poison damage.
Amber Dragon Magic
Your amber dragon ancestry allows you to know the Shillelagh cantrip. Once you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Entangle spell once. Once you reach 5th level, you can also cast the Misty Step spell once. You must finish a long rest to cast these spells again with this trait. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells
Sap Breath Weapon
Once per short rest as an action, you can exhale a breath weapon of quick hardening sap. Each creature in the area must make a Dexterity saving throw or become restrained and take taking 1d6 ([6th] 2d6, [11th] 3d6, [16th] 4d6) on a failed save. If the creature succeeds on the saving throw they take half damage and are not restrained. Any creature restrained by the sap may use their action to make a Strength saving throw to break free from the sap. The saving throw DC for this ability is equal to 8 + Your Wisdom Modifier + Your Proficiency Bonus
Speech of Beast and Leaf
You have the ability to communicate in a limited manner with beasts and plants. They can understand the meaning of your words, though you have no special ability to understand them in return. You have advantage on all Charisma checks you make to influence them.
