Homebrew Aguatunisian Species Details
"Humans often call me a fish person, but that's actually quite inaccurate because I'm not a fish at all. We're not fish, it's a different thing."
—Riva, Communications Intern for "The Wurst"
Aguatunisians are an aquatic race that communicates solely by telepathy. Most have blue skin, with pink or green fins running along their torsos and limbs. Their physiology allows them to be capable swimmers, but without special breathing apparatuses, they'll suffocate on dry land. Some Aguatunisians will project their consciousness into droids (commonly called psychodrones) so that they can interact with non-aquatic life forms.
Personality and Culture
The native Aguatunisian culture is a very trusting one; since they communicate telepathically and anyone can hear their thoughts, they have no reason or ability to keep secrets. For individuals that leave the planet of Aguatunisia, they may come across as gullible, and far most trusting of those around them than is common or reasonable.
Aguatunisians can have a minimum of two parents, but potentially have many more, as their species' breeding ritual can be performed externally with many partners. When Aguatunisians become of age (approximately 20 years old in Terran years), they are encouraged to leave their home planet for a time to perform a culture immersion and study called "The Galivant". An average galivant lasts between 1-3 years. When an Aguatunisian returns from their galivant, they're able to psychically share all information that they've learned with the rest of their species, bolstering the knowledge of all beings by leveraging a single perspective.
There are no clear genders in Aguatunisian culture. Similar to dolphins and whales, half of an Aguatunisian's brain sleeps, and the other half stays awake. That half will rest until they switch, and the other side rests. Because of this, when one half of their brain is asleep, the eye on the corresponding side falls asleep.
Aguatunisian Names
An Aguatunisian name is usually simple and syllabic. Sometimes, the spelling of the names are elongated, as Aguatunisians communicate telepathically and have no written language that would provide precise spellings. As the majority of Aguatunisians do not specify a gender preference, it is rare that a name would be isolated to one particular gender expression.
Example Names: Eeeeeeeeluh, Riva, Shyvuh, Aaaani, Oooobo, Jaynuh

You can speak telepathically to any creature you can see, provided the creature is within a number of feet of you equal to 10 times your level. You don’t need to share a language with the creature for it to understand your telepathic utterances, but the creature must be able to understand at least one language.
When you’re using this trait to speak telepathically to a creature, you can use your action to give that creature the ability to speak telepathically with you for 1 hour or until you end this effect as an action. To use this ability, the creature must be able to see you and must be within this trait’s range. You can give this ability to only one creature at a time; giving it to a creature takes it away from another creature who has it.
Languages
You can speak and telepathically understand common, and one other language of your choice.
