Dracoloxodon (Loxodon-Dragonborn) Race Details

A half-dragon, half-loxodon individual would be a striking and unique sight, a testament to the unusual union of their parents. Here's a general description of their appearance:

Size and Build:

  • Towering: They would be taller and larger than both average loxodons and humans, likely standing around 7 to 8 feet tall.
  • Muscular: They would inherit the loxodon's natural strength and the dragon's inherent power, resulting in a robust and muscular physique.
  • Sturdy: Their build would be sturdy and imposing, reflecting the resilience of both parent races.

Skin and Scales:

  • Scaly Skin: Their skin would likely have a leathery texture with varying degrees of scaliness, depending on the dragon parent's lineage. The scales could be small and subtle or large and prominent.
  • Earthy Tones: Their skin color would likely be a blend of the loxodon's gray or brown tones with the dragon's hues, resulting in unique and varied skin tones.
  • Scale Patterns: Some individuals might exhibit unique scale patterns, such as swirls, stripes, or spots, inherited from their draconic ancestry.

Facial Features:

  • Tusks: They would inherit the loxodon's tusks, but their shape and size might be influenced by the dragon parent's lineage.
  • Ears: Their ears would likely be a combination of the loxodon's large, floppy ears and the dragon's pointed ears, potentially resulting in ears that are pointed at the tips or have unique folds or ridges.
  • Eyes: Their eyes would be expressive and intelligent, possibly reflecting the dragon's fiery or metallic hues.

Other Features:

  • Wings: The most prominent draconic feature would be their wings, which would likely be smaller and less developed than a pure dragon's, but still capable of limited flight or gliding.
  • Tail: Some individuals might inherit a tail, either from the loxodon parent (a short, tufted tail) or the dragon parent (a long, scaled tail).
  • Breath Weapon: Depending on the dragon parent's lineage, they might possess a breath weapon, though it might be less potent than a pure dragon's.

Overall, a half-dragon, half-loxodon would be a unique and visually striking individual, blending the majestic features of both races. Their appearance would vary depending on the specific traits inherited from each parent, making each individual a one-of-a-kind creation.

Dracoloxodon (Loxodon-Dragonborn) Traits

Born of the union between the wise loxodons and the powerful dragons, Dracoloxodons embody a harmonious blend of elemental strength, celestial wisdom, and draconic might. These towering figures possess a unique heritage, drawing upon the rich traditions of both their ancestral lineages. While each Dracoloxodon is a unique individual, they share certain racial traits inherited from their mixed bloodline.

Ability Score Increase

Your Strength or Constitution score increases by 2, and your Charisma score increases by 1.

Age

Dracoloxodons, like their dragon ancestors, experience a rapid growth spurt in their early years, reaching the size and development of a 10-year-old human child by the age of 5. They typically reach adulthood around 20 years old, but are not considered mature by their elders until they reach 60. Their lifespan can extend to 400 years, a testament to the longevity inherited from both their loxodon and draconic heritage.

Size

Dracoloxodons inherit the towering stature of their loxodon ancestors, typically standing between 7 and 8 feet tall. Their draconic heritage adds to their weight, often exceeding the average loxodon, with individuals weighing between 400 and 500 pounds. Despite their imposing size, they are surprisingly agile and graceful. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Draconic Ancestry

You have draconic ancestry. Choose one type of dragon from the Draconic Ancestry table. Your breath weapon and damage resistance are determined by the dragon type, as shown in the table.

Draconic Ancestry
Dragon Damage Type Breath Weapon
Black Acid 5 by 30 ft. line (Dex. save)
Blue Lightning 5 by 30 ft. line (Dex. save)
Brass Fire 5 by 30 ft. line (Dex. save)
Bronze Lightning 5 by 30 ft. line (Dex. save)
Copper Acid 5 by 30 ft. line (Dex. save)
Gold Fire 15 ft. cone (Dex. save)
Green Poison 15 ft. cone (Con. save)
Red Fire 15 ft. cone (Dex. save)
Silver Cold 15 ft. cone (Con. save)
White Cold 15 ft. cone (Con. save)

Breath Weapon

You can use your action to exhale destructive energy. Your draconic ancestry determines the size, shape, and damage type of the exhalation. When you use your breath weapon, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your draconic ancestry. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level. After you use your breath weapon, you can’t use it again until you complete a short or long rest.

Damage Resistance

You have resistance to the damage type associated with your draconic ancestry.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common, Loxodon, and Draconic. Loxodon is a deep, rumbling language often accompanied by subtle trunk movements and infrasonic vocalizations, making it difficult for non-loxodons to fully comprehend. Draconic is thought to be one of the oldest languages and is often used in the study of magic. The language sounds harsh to most other creatures and includes numerous hard consonants and sibilants.

Powerful Build

You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

Trunk

You can grasp things with your trunk, and you can use it as a snorkel. It has a reach of 5 feet, and it can lift a number of pounds equal to five times your Strength score. You can use it to do the following simple tasks: lift, drop, hold, push, or pull an object or a creature; open or close a door or a container; grapple someone; or make an unarmed strike. Your DM might allow other simple tasks to be added to that list of options. It can't wield weapons or shields or do anything that requires manual precision, such as using tools or magic items or performing the somatic components of a spell.

Natural Armour

You have thick, leathery skin. When you aren't wearing armor, your AC is 12 + your Constitution modifier. You can use your natural armor to determine your AC if the armor you wear would leave you with a lower AC. A shield's benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.
