Homebrew Vessel Species Details

A new Vessel is created by filling a hollow Vessel shell with Void. This new Vessel will grow by gathering Soul, through absorbing the Soul out of fallen enemies. At a certain point, with enough Soul power, a Vessel will be able to awaken a Dream Nail. A Dream Nail will allow the Vessel to delve into the minds and dreams of others, and will allow them to gain Essence through remnants of wishes and Dreams. With enough Essence, the Vessel may then Awaken their Dream Nail. With an Awoken Dream Nail, a Vessel may delve into a Dream Realm, where it can strengthen itself even more. A Vessel may then set out into the world again, as a protector of the helpless (if they so choose), and to oppose the Pale King that wrought their demise.

Empty Vessels

Vessels are essentially an empty shell, filled with Void. Void is a life-giving substance but giving oneself over to the Void lets the Void consume you. It will make you emotionless, and like a Vessel. When you die, you will become a shell. The Void inside you will escape this dead shell, and will go back it's mysterious birthplace, where it waits to fill another Vessel shell. The idea of a Hollow Knight is the Idea of a Pure Vessel, that can withstand the Radiance, the evil that the Pale King was trying to fight, but in the end, the Pale King doomed himself, because the Hollow Knight he chose was not up to the task, and the other Vessels went rogue, and turned on the Pale King, and pushed him out of their sacred Birthplace, so he could make no more new Vessels to protect himself, nor could he destroy any of the remaining Vessels.
