Homebrew Children of Steel Species Details
The Children of Steel are people who value power and strength above all else. Although they are not lacking in wise men and sorcerers, these people produce more warriors and adventurers than any other culture since from childhood they are educated to seek the glory and honor that comes with victory over enemies.
In general, they tend to be strong and muscular, with a predilection for studded leather garments, as shown in the writings of the Past. Their communities, although they are increasingly larger, continue to present a mainly tribal structure.
One Sword, One King.
Though most of them still live in tribal communities, the Children hold a great respect for the concept of "King" or "Queen". The notion of "monarchy" as a whole means next to nothing to them, but the figure of the King as a strong leader, capable of uniting several tribes to vanquish any kind of enemy with the power of the sword brings almost reverential respect. The title of king is one to be gained, not inherited so in the eyes of the Children anyone could be king if he or she rises up to the situation when is needed. The bleak side of this situation is that this notion encourage many tribal leaders to constantly wage war against their neighbours in order to get the title they longed for, leading to multiple so called kings in relatively small territories. But the elders of every tribe always remember that "the one true king won't need to use the sword against his people, but when he calls they all will answer"
