Homebrew Cloth Golem Species Details
The Cloth Golem only original feature is a single body part and their soul, destroying these are the only ways one may truly die.
Cloth Golem Traits
Your character works with what they can find:Fire Vulnerability
Cloth Golems are unfortunately made of flammable materials. You have vulnerability to fire damage (only from sources of open flame), and any affect that can set objects on fire, also sets you on fire.
Ability Score Increase
Your strange biology grants you a Constitution score increase of 2, and one additional stat of your choice.
Age
A Cloth Golem must constantly make new parts to survive, but do not age.
Alignment
Cloth Golem have no consistent alignment, they are too rare to survey.
Size
Cloth Golems are limited only in the size of the parts they make use of.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Magical Core
Your body is composed of various stitched parts. If you fall below 0 hit points and die this core piece remains dormant for 1d4 days before reanimating, or having a spell such as Revivify cast on you. However, if this core is destroyed none of your body parts can reanimate and you truly die. This core can be any object, limb or organ in your body; crystal, rune, leg, hand, brain, beard. So long as you have other body parts, damage to your body is prioritised on them over your core unless it is specifically targeted. If your core remains separate from any body parts for a week it is destroyed.
Stitched Body Parts
Your body, aside from your Magical Core, is made up of cloth and fabric. As an action, you can attach a stitched body part, the part attaches to you in a similar place on your body. Body Parts must be close to humanoid and must replace a missing feature on your body. If you attach a body part out of place, for example a third arm or eye, any rolls involving the additional part are made at disadvantage. Your parts must remain in physical contact with your core for you to animate them, decomposing and becoming unusable if left separated for over a week.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language.
