Homebrew Caracan Species Details

Caracans are a hunting culture, living in the treetops of their dense jungles. The greatest hunters, trackers, and rangers of Oboros tend to hail from Caracol. They prefer to utilize wood over all other materials when possible. Despite this, there are some trees they refuse to cut down, and instead revere and protect.

Caracans are known for having epicanthal folds around their eyes (they appear Asian) and furthermore, can change the color of their irises at will (often subconsciously when experiencing extreme emotions). Fashions tend more towards practical, tight-fitting skins and furs, but the emerging trend is flowing paper and wood clothing in the style of feudal Japan (Kimonos).

All non-magical attempts at tracking you have disadvantage.

Camouflage

As a bonus action, you activate your natural camouflage. Your aura begins to bend light around it, resulting in near-invisibility for a duration of 1 minute. While camouflaged, all attacks against you suffer a - 2 penalty to hit. This penalty increases by 1 every other level, maxing at - 6.

While camouflaged, you can use your bonus action at the end of every turn to hide with advantage. You can use this feature a number of times equal to 1 + proficiency bonus per day.

Tool Proficiency

You gain proficiency with your choice of Carpenter's Tools or Woodcarver's Tools.
