Homebrew Canis Species Details

A cheerful race of humanoid dogs, the Canis prize loyalty, hard work, and fun. They are eager to make friends with others, but intensely distrustful of anyone they suspect of having ill-intent.

Canis are slightly shorter than humans, but taller than dwarves, usually standing at about Five Feet tall.

Canis age slightly faster than humans, reaching maturity by about 15. On Average, they live to be about 80.

A Canis is given a name by their parents as a pup, but adopt a new name in adolescence or adulthood. This name is given by someone other than the individual, often a trusted friend. Being someone's namer is considered a great honor.
