Homebrew Amphiblood Species Details
bloods are amphibious humanoids known to undergo a mysterious transformation. They are known to be descended from elementals, and some believe that the unpredictable nature of elementals is what causes their transformations.
Amphiblood Traits
As an Amphiblood, you gain the following racial traits.Ability Score Increases
Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and one other ability score of your choice increases by 1.
Amphibious
You can breathe air and water.
Slippery
Your naturally slippery body allows you to squeeze through tighter spaces than seem possible. You can move through spaces small enough for a tiny creature as if it were difficult terrain. In addition, you have advantage on all checks made to evade or end the grappled condition on yourself.
Weather Sense
You have an innate ability to read the weather in inexplicable ways. As part of a short or long rest, you can read the weather. After doing so, you know the weather for the next 24 hours. You must be able to see the sky to use this ability. In addition, you gain proficiency with survival.
Metamorphosis
Growth in skills and abilities can cause Amphiblood to undergo transformation. At level 3, your height increases by 2 feet, and you choose one of the options below. In addition, your walking and swimming speeds increase by 5 feet.
- Frog Legs. Your long jump is up to 25 feet, and your high jump is up to 15 feet, with or without a running start.
- Moist Skin. You have resistance to fire damage.
- Natural Recovery. Whenever you start your turn unconscious and stabilized, you regain 1 hit point.
- Permeable Skin. You have sensitive skin that allows you to detect your surroundings to some extent. You have blindsight out to a radius of 10 feet.
- Poison Skin. Your skin is coated in a thin layer of poison. Whenever you make an unarmed attack, you can deal extra poison damage equal to your proficiency bonus.
- Slick Skin. You have resistance to acid damage
When you reach level 5, you undergo another transformation. Your walking and swimming speeds increase by 5 once again, and you choose another trait from the options provided. The second time you choose a trait, you cannot take the same one as before, and you cannot take multiple damage resistance traits.
