Homebrew Draco Species Details

Dracos tend to be taller and more slender than humans, but this does not mean they are weak. The powerful muscles inherited from their beastly kin give them overwhelming strength and speed advantages for their size. Dracos have skin tones similar to those of humans, but their dragon horns and tails are more brightly colored than those of the Wyrmkin. The color of Draco's eyes is often related to the origin of their bloodline.

Dracos' personalities are often similar to those of the Vouivre, being proud and stubborn. However, Dracos are more rational (or perhaps more greedy) and better at setting aside their ideas in the face of personal gain.

The Dracos live scattered in numerous communities around the world, with different physical characteristics depending on the region. They were also prominent figures in various myths and legends, appearing as either heroes or often tyrannical rulers. From a Draco king who polished his horns to form a natural crown after being told about other horned races, to even an immortal, ruthless Draco overlord who caused havoc continuously during the course of a thousand years, all the way to modern times. This story, however, was merely a story to scare children. Another interesting legend involves a Victorian Draco King who hid all the plundered Originium artifacts in a treasure chest, which is still a hot topic amongst treasure hunters. Oddly enough, the name "Draco" wouldn't be used until its communities became increasingly close to each other thousands of years ago.

The Dracos were also the sole inhabitants of the regions that would eventually become Victoria and Tara, which were founded after the tribes split and fought each other for power influenced by the wisdom of the Sargonian Padishahs. Then later was re-incorporated into the Victorian hegemony to fend off the Khagan's invasion. Following a bloody civil war against the newly arrived Aslans, the Dracos were forced to share their power with the latter. But to eliminate their potential rivals, the Draco houses were secretly wiped out twenty years ago through numerous conspiracies. Despite this, some of the Dracos remain alive and plot to take back their former reign such as the house of Dublinn.

While the Dracos are not unique when it comes to their fire manipulation, it is said that their power has unique quirks that distinguish them from "normal" fire Arts, in which it is not fundamentally based on fire, but the manipulation of the living cell metabolism, which is manifested as a side effect. This is even evident in Eblana's necromantic Arts, which can control corpses.

Dracos' proud stature, distinct features, and unique abilities ensure they are a sight to see wherever they may travel.

Draconic Body (Draco)

Dracos' Skin: Your base AC + 2.

Dragon Horn: After you make an unarmed attack, you can use your horns to make an extra melee weapon attack, dealing 1d6 piercing damage. This cannot be used if the last attack is a Dragon Tail Strike.

Dragon Tail: After you make a melee weapon attack, you can use your tail to make an extra unarmed attack, dealing 1d4 bludgeoning damage. This cannot be used if the last attack is a Dragon Horn Strike.

Tail Balancing: When you are knocked prone by a melee attack, you use a reaction to roll a Strength (Athletics) or Acrobatics saving throw, to avoid being knocked prone.

Lord of Fire

Draconic Fire Originium Arts: You learn the cantrip "Produce Flame", "Control Flames" and "Create Bonfire". You learn the spell "Fireball". 

Draconic Fire: All fire created by you directly is seen as "Magical Fire" and cannot be extinguished through mundane means. All fire damage dealt by you and the fire you've created has a damage bonus of +1.

Originium Art Adaptation - Stable

Due to their born affinity to originium, Dracos' can control originium substances better.

Once every long rest, you can reroll your Originium Art Result Dice.

Age

Dracos reach adulthood at around 18 years old and live at least 400 years.

Size

Dracos are generally taller and more slender than humans, possessing brightly colored dragon horns and tails. However, your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 40 feet.
