Homebrew Drabaxi Species Details

Hybrid Drabaxi

Drabaxi look very much like fluffy dragons standing erect in humanoid form, though they lack wings. The first drabaxi had scales of vibrant hues matching the colors of their dragonborn parent, but fur of a different color appearing in their ears and in-between their scales. Their small, fine scales are usually brass or bronze in color, sometimes ranging to scarlet, rust, gold, or copper-green. They are tall and lanky, often standing close to 6½ feet tall and weighing 190 pounds or more. Their hands and feet are strong, catlike claws with three fingers and a thumb on each hand, in addition to paw pads on each digit.

Loyal to The End

To any drabaxi, loyalty is more important than life itself. Drabaxi owe their very existence to love without limits, and respect their friends above all else, even the gods. Each drabaxi’s conduct reflects on their honor, and bringing dishonor to oneself is sometimes worse than death. Every drabaxi loves and cares for their allies, even to the extent of self-sacrifice, causing many drabaxi to be seen as honorable people even with no prior knowledge of the person.

Drabaxi also have an uncommon mix of racial traits, being drawn to self-sufficiency, as well as information and shiny objects. They have a strange fascination with magical items, and can sometimes become obsessed with overly powerful magical objects.

When in trouble, drabaxi acknowledge that they cannot win every battle alone. However, they typically turn to friends and allies, before every turning to outside help. They could forsake even the aid of the gods over one good friend.

DRACONIANS

In the Dragonlance setting, the followers of the evil goddess Takhisis learned a vile ritual that let them corrupt the eggs of metallic dragons, producing evil dragonborn called draconians. Five types of draconians, corresponding to the five types of metallic dragons, fought for Takhisis in the War of the Lance: auraks (gold), baaz (brass), bozak (bronze), kapak (copper), and sivak (silver). In place of their draconic breath weapons, they have unique magical abilities.
