Homebrew Axolotian Species Details

Axolotians are small creatures from Amphibia, an under water city inhabited by all sorts of different amphibious creatures. Formed by an unknown wizard that had a great love for sea creatures, before setting off to his next adventures created a small city that evolved over time. 

Axolotians are able to breath both in land and water, They also have regenerative abilities and can regenerate any part of their bodies except for their head. Due to their size they can easily sneak up on their foes. They are also expert hiders underwater, they will burrow underneath lose rocks and boulders to hide from threats.

Because this race was made from magic, they are naturally attuned with magic.

Older generations of Axolotians are nocturnal, but over time each generation has learned to resists their urge to sleep during the day, thus now are able to be out in sunlight for a normal amount of time and sleep during the night just like other races.  

Creating Your Character

If you create a Axolotian character, follow these additional rules during character creation.

Ability Score Increases

Your Intelligence increases by 1, due to their regenerative abilities Constitution is increased by 2. Any checks for stealth gain an additional 1 in roll.

Languages

Your character can speak, read, and write Common, one other language and speak with animals.

Creature Type

Every creature in D&D, including every player character, has a special tag in the rules that identifies the type of creature they are. Most player characters, including Acolotian, are of the Humanoid type. 

Life Span

They can live up to 150 years or more depending on life quality.

Height and Weight

Axolotians are smaller than dwarfs and weigh approximately 30kg, They same has a Human child.

 

 

 

Axolotian Traits

Batfolk Traits You have the following racial traits.

Regeneration

You have a chance to instantly regenerate/heal your character by rolling a 3d6. (2 times per long rest)

If the player rolls half or more than half of their current HP, they are instantly healed.

If the player rolls less than half of their HP they are healed following their Constitution Modifier (e.g. Con mod +1 Healed for 1 HP)

This ability gains an additional 1d6 per level.
