Homebrew Batrachian Species Details
He stood at the top of the stairs gazing out into the burning fields. His bulbous black eyes darting in every direction, searching for any sign of life. In one hand, A large blood soaked cleaver. In the other, a small, but sharp dagger, still dried, and unused. A large, pink and red hued tongue, dropping from the mouth, gripping what looks to be another dagger, ready to dart and lash out at any enemy that draws quarter.
His whole life, Ahna of the Barkleaper tribe had been scrutinized for being the "Runt" of his family. Small by Batrachian standards, and not inheriting the yellow slit eyes that his kin are known for, Ahna more than made up for it by being the first of his kind to be born with a Vocal Sac, a Large membrane located beneath his frog like chin that would amplify his voice to carry for close to a mile.
Wrapped in a swath of neon blue and yellow permeable skin, Ahna tears through the murky swamp water and an unbelievable speed thanks to his webbed toes, slashing down any invading Orc raider that dares make a move against his clan.

Cousins to the Tortles, The Batrachian race resembles frogs more than they do turtles. These creatures live lives of solitude, deep within hidden Jungles, or vast swamp lands. Legends say that the Batrachian was birthed by the ancient Grung god, Nangnang as a way to understand the Human culture, and how they have evolved, Other believe that the Demons known as Hezrou "infected" other races with their demon seed, which gave birth to the Batrachian. Whatever the case, Most civilization believe them to be a race of legend....However, more and more sightings have caused a stir if mixed emotions at the possible resurgence of a long thought fabled race.
The Croaking Kind
While still retaining the overall appearance of The frog, the Batrachian resembles an upright humanoid with a massive frog like head. Their hands and feet webbed, to give them better movement while traversing water. Most Batrachian are described as a colorful palate of greens and reds, but others have described some as having glowing, almost neon markings to their skin. Batrachians often stand close to 5 ½ feet tall and sometimes weighing close to 300 pounds or more depending on the Batrachian tribe. They have 3 elongated fingers and a thumb on each hand. Most, if not all of their kind can also use their folded tongue as a gripping tool, Some of them reaching up to 3 feet in length.
Hidden Tribes Of Lore
Any Batrachian will tell you that the one thing that all tribes value above all else is Community. Since every tribe of Batrachian have kept themselves hidden from the outside world, they rely on each other and themselves to create a self sustaining society. A very stubborn race, most Batrachian have forgone any sort of praise to a higher deity, as they believe that if you have to resort to pleading to an outside source for "help", then you are weak, and see no self worth.
When a Batrachian reaches maturity, they are sent out on a Pilgrimage of self Discovery. No Batrachian is allowed to return to their tribe until they have performed a task set forth by the tribe's elders. This sometimes leads to Batrachians traversing the the world, gaining as much insight of outside cultures to bring back home, often this takes years, and most Batrachian never make it back home.
Even though most Batrachian folk refuse the helping hands of others, some have began to realize that in order to advance their civilization, they need to resort to outside help. this sometimes leads to inner turmoil , as the Batrachian race believes that they should only rely on themselves.
