Homebrew Ashvaar Demon Species Details

"A quote of some sort..."

Trying to hide from the world, ready to learn anything in their path. Ashvaar Demons are not generally evil, and are pushed by their feelings of curiosity towards anything that their people have created. They feel a kinship towards the Tiefling. In a way, they are their children. Recently upon arriving to the Land (in contrast with the Nine Hells), they realize that they might not be welcomed as Infernal Children, but are quick to adapt to their surroundings, some learn to pass as Tieflings, others learn Illusion Magic to hide in plain sight.

Infernal Bloodline

Ashvaan Demons are just another type of Demon from the Nine Hells. They have a vaguely humanoid form, in regards to the form of their body and size. They have large horns that take any of a variety of shapes: some have curling horns like a ram, others have straight and tall horns like a gazelle’s, and some spiral upward like an antelopes’ horns. In contrast with Tieflings, their tails are long, thin and end in an arrow shaped form at the tip. They have long, pointed canines that poke oven their lips. Their eyes are solid colors—black, red, white, silver, or gold—with no visible sclera or pupil. Skin tones are nowhere close human coloration, ranging various shades of red, purple and gray. Their hair is dark, from black or brown to dark red, blue, purple, and some even green or orange. They have giant, leathery black wings that allows them to fly. However, water variants have only small vestiges of these wings and have webbed fingers instead as well as scales, their skin taking blue- and greenish tonalites rather than reds and purples.

Self-Reliant and Eager

Ashvaan Demons are rare, for they can only escape from a Summoning Circle—a badly made one from a careless invoker. They have learned to hide in plain sight through illusionary spells or, the most humanoid looking ones, trying to pass as Tieflings. Most escaped Demons end up being thieves and criminals, sometimes because they mixed with crooked crowds during their first days (they are gullible at first, not knowing the Land's laws, they don't know what they are doing wrong, and find the thrill of stealth enthralling). Some might actually end up in obscure magic schools and learn to channel their Infernal Powers properly.

Big cities usually have a small Circle where Demons can find refuge when Hunters seem to be close behind, as well as some sort of attempt of a club for Demons to share their findings and, as they call it, collection of Land's trinkets. However, they are not a people to be quick to make friends or allies, since they have to remain distant so as not get found out. Nevertheless, they can be fiercely loyal to those they call Family.

Ashvaan Names

Ashvaan names can be taken from Hebrew and Latin names. Some give themselves Land People names to try and fit in, so you can find Demons with human or even elf sounding names.
