Homebrew Canis Species Details
Long have the Canis been the guardians of man. It is said they served this role ever since the first man learned to walk upright.
They are very protective of those they get close to, often going to extremes to keep them from harm. Their nature can be somewhat whimsical and hard to predict giving them a chaotic disposition. They tend to be good, but depending on the influences around them, they can have a very fluid morality.

Canis are slightly shorter but built sturdier than humans. They are around 5 feet tall and 150 lbs.
Fur
Canis fur give them resistance against cold damage.
Alignment
Canis in general tend to gravitate toward being good in nature, with a disposition that is either neutral or somewhat chaotic. Their alignment however can be shifted depending on what their exposed to in others. Canis societies without outside influence are very peaceful.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 35 feet.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common. You can speak and understand the Canis language, it is an ancient language that is a series of barks and growls along with some tones too low for many other humanoid races to hear.
Ability Score Increase
Canis get a 1 point increase to constitution and 2 points to charisma.
Howl
Once per short rest Canis can unleash a destructive howl dealing 2d6(3d6 at level 5, 4d6 at 11, and 5d6 at15) force damage and frightened on a failed CON save, and half damage on a successful CON save.
Age
Canis age at a faster rate than humans. Reaching full maturity at 3 years and an average lifespan of 50 years.
