Homebrew Ctarl-Ctarl Species Details
The Ctarl-Ctarl are a metamorphic species, able to change their physical forms into that of more primordial creatures to enhance their strength and durability. This ability can be invoked to varying degrees, from subtle feline changes in their physique to transforming into a bipedal beast. The ability to transform is dependent on a planet's moon.
The resulting transformation is very powerful, but takes a lot of energy in order to maintain, and is therefore typically only used for a relatively short period of time. Their strength is only recovered by large intakes of food. The transformation is also affected by the phases of nearby celestial objects, but to what degrees and to what effects are never explained.
Ctarl-Ctarl are said to be immortal species, but can still be killed from exposure to the intense pressures and temperatures of space, as well as the destruction of the brain.

Speed
Your walking speed is 35 feet, and you have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.
Darkvision
You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.
Razor Claws
You can use your claws to make unarmed strikes. When you hit with them, the strike deals 1d6 + your Strength modifier slashing damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

You have proficiency in the Athletics and perception skills.
Metamorphic Powers
Ctarl-ctarl are able to tap into their more primal nature. Releasing their beast forms to temporarily become something else. There are rumors that the phase of the moon floating around the planet the Ctarl-ctarl is on, could strengthen or weaken the form.
Using a bonus action, you can take on a beast form. Your beast form either takes on the form of a saber-toothed tiger. Upon transforming, you gain temporary hit points equal to the stat block's median health plus three times your character level. When all of your temporary health points are depleted, 8 hours have passed, or use an action to dismiss it, you return to your normal form.Your Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution become the new forms unless your regular stats are higher. You retain your Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma. Your beast form cannot speak common and cannot cast spells. Once you use this form, you cannot use it again until you complete a short or long rest.
Upon reaching level 5, your beast form gains multi-attack that allows for two attacks, using either your bite or claws.
