Homebrew Ankylon Species Details

Ankylons are a bipedal, humanoid dinosaurs known for their craft and fighting spirit. These creatures have spikes and armored plates on their heads and shell like back with a tail that ends in a hammer-like club. They are known for their fighting skills, crafting, and there survival experience across almost any terrain. These creatures are mostly found as wanderers, exploring new lands, succumbing to the elements, and fighting new foes. Ankylons come in varies colors; dark grey, orange, red, brown, and green. Their clans are mainly located deep within mountains, giving them a perfect place to forge and fight. Ankylons are trained to perfect any fighting style, with or without weapons. The Ankylons culture is a bit different from most. All Ankylon clans believe in the Gods of War, but most stick to one god. Whoever the clan follows, the clan follows their ideals. This gives Ankylons their fighting personality and  spirit. What's interesting about these creatures that they have a sort of "breeding ground". All Ankylons that are 50 and older are to come to the breeding location (Usually inside of a volcano). After the breeding process, the mothers are to stay in the volcano for 10 months till the eggs are laid and placed in a lava rock nest (a female can lay up to 3 eggs). After the eggs are laid, the fathers are to come back and watch over the eggs for another 6 months until they hatch. After the eggs hatch, the fathers and hatchlings are to be brought back to the clan and the fathers are to begin the hatchlings training. After 5 years, the hatchlings are to go with there fathers out into the realms and begin their adaptation to the elements and put their fighting skills to the test. After another 10 years, the fathers are to leave their offspring to travel on their own and pave their own path.

Humanoid ankylosaurs hardened by the elements and battle.

Age

Begin to walk on all fours soon after hatching, two legs hours later, attain the size and development of a 15-year-old at age 10, and reach adulthood at age 20. Ankylons can live around 250 years.

Size

Medium size creature that can reach 6-7.5 ft tall and between 400-500 lbs.

Your walking speed is 30 ft.

You can speak, write, and read Common and the language of the Ankylons, Kylos.

Unarmed Strike

A normal attack without weapons with a 5 ft reach. Does 5 bludgeoning damage.

Natural Armor

You have a natural AC of 16 plus your Dexterity Modifier.

Tail Swipe

You have a tail that can reach up to 5ft and can be used as an attack that can do extensive damage when used. This tail swipe can do a 1d12 bludgeoning + Strength Modifier.
