Homebrew Ashen Species Details

ashen culture focuses on a couple things wealth, skill, knowledge, magical prowess, and martial arts, all ashens are taught how to fight before they learn magic from as soon as they can walk, and the more skill you have, the more people tend to listen to you, and duels are common to settle disputes. duels are not limitted to martial arts, they can range from incredible magical displays in a form of flare filled art, to magical combat, but it also often happens that it is just settled with an argument or battle of wits, this is a huge part of ashen culture and anyone can challange anyone at any time, but challenging another at an inapropriate time or place/situation is seen as dishonerable and has large social stigma's attached

ashens take pride in wealth, the wealthier that you are, usually the safer that you are in gehena, the capital city of the ashens because you can contribute to things
and people that can contribute to things will be missed if they die. ashens are full fiends in dnd so if you kill one in the matterial plane they end up back in their plane of origin. ashens put a lot of worth on the fluff on the end of one's tail, usually the fluffier and fuller it is the better their genetics are and thus the better your children will be. magic is taught from a young age and all ashens know atleast some magic but not all put the same amount of value on it

Ashens also believe that borrowing power from others is a weakness in most cases. They mostly frown on others reliant on godly power as they think it is dishonorable. They would rather rely in thier power alone than accept aid from any other source. one of the few acceptions that are respected is if godly aid is used to help others rather than just making one self stronger.

their political circle's.

Ashens become rulers by being and becoming the best. an ashen ruler is usually thousants of years old, has a vast knowledge of almost every topic ,are usually some of the most powerful mages and combattents you can find. the only way to replace a ruler is to prove that you are better in all forms. you cannot just best them in a single way. you have to prove their better on knowledge, magical prowes, multiple forms of combat, and a trial of their own making that both of you partake in.
