Homebrew Amphybion Species Details
Amphybions are a diverse people that thrive in almost every corner of multiverse. The presence of Amphybions often denotes how healthy an ecosystem is, as they are deeply connected to nature and can't stand to see it in peril.
Amphybion Traits
As an amphybion, you have the following racial traits.Creature Type
You are a Humanoid.
Size
You are Medium or Small. You choose the size when you select this race.
Speed
Your walking speed is 30 feet, and you have a swimming speed equal to your walking speed.
Amphibious
You can breathe both air and water.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for your character.
Ability Score Increase
When determining your character’s ability scores, increase one score by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1. You can't raise any of your scores above 20.
Water Dependency
If you fail to immerse yourself in water for at least 1 hour during a day, you suffer 1 level of exhaustion at the end of that day. You can recover from this exhaustion only through magic or by immersing yourself in water for at least 1 hour.
Slimy Skin
You have slimy, mucous-coated skin that you can use to your advantage. Creatures have disadvantage on Strength (Athletics) checks made to grapple you. Additionally, when attempting to escape a grapple, you have advantage on your contested Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks.
