Homebrew Boggle Species Details

The Boggle are a small, fey-touched race known for their mischievous nature and their ability to manipulate the physical world with their unique abilities. Standing between 3 and 4 feet tall, these diminutive creatures possess a wiry frame and a light build, making them agile and quick on their feet. Their skin ranges in shades of deep blue to dark purple, often glistening with a faint, oily sheen that hints at their magical nature.

Boggle have large, expressive eyes that glow faintly in the dark, allowing them to see clearly in dim light and darkness. Their hair is wild and untamed, often adorned with small trinkets and bits of nature they collect during their travels. Their ears are pointed, a clear sign of their fey heritage, and their fingers are long and nimble, perfect for intricate tasks and quick escapes.

Living up to their fey ancestry, Boggle are naturally resistant to charms and enchantments, and they possess an innate ability to secrete a magical oil from their pores. This oil can be either slippery or sticky, granting them advantages in various situations, whether it be escaping a grapple or restraining an opponent.

One of the most remarkable abilities of the Boggle is their power to create dimensional rifts. With a simple touch, they can open a small portal on a solid surface, allowing them to pass through and emerge in a different location within a short distance. This ability makes them excellent scouts and infiltrators, able to bypass obstacles and evade pursuers with ease.

Boggle society is loosely organized, with individuals often forming small, tight-knit communities or wandering alone in search of adventure and mischief. They are naturally curious and playful, always eager to explore new places and meet new people. Despite their chaotic tendencies, Boggle are fiercely loyal to their friends and allies, and they will go to great lengths to protect those they care about.
