Homebrew Changeling/Nephelium Hybrid Species Details
In their true form, changelings appear faded, their features almost devoid of detail. It is rare to see a changeling in that form, for a typical changeling changes their shape the way others might change clothes. A casual shape — one created on the spur of the moment, with no depth or history — is called a mask. A mask can be used to express a mood or to serve a specific purpose and then might never be used again. However, many changelings develop identities that have more depth, crafting whole personas complete with histories and beliefs. A changeling adventurer might have personas for many situations, including negotiation, investigation, and combat.
Personas can be shared by multiple changelings; a community might be home to three healer changelings, with whoever is on duty adopting the persona of Andrea, the gentle physician. Personas can even be passed down through a family, allowing a younger changeling to take advantage of contacts established by the persona’s previous users.
A vampire's voice develops a soothing seductive enticing undertone. Their looks radiate a harmless friendly aura. Their natural smell is unknown, as it changes to whatever is most appealing to their victim. A vampire is nature's ultimate hunter.
Nightly Wanderers
While vampires are far from the evilest of creatures, they typically prefer to keep a low profile. A vampire inevitably draws the attention of lawful and good creatures, as well as bounty hunters and dark marketers when their identities are revealed, all of whom would be eager to strike down or sell the agents of darkness if they had the chance.
When traveling, vampires prefer hoods, closed helms, and other gear that allows them to conceal their identities as well as keep out the sun's harmful rays. Some vampires nevertheless have no compunction about striking openly at evil or helping the common folk under the cover of night.
Vampire Names
Most vampires are born from other races, and they use the same naming conventions as their native culture. After they are turned, however, they may choose to give themselves a different name
Changeling/Nephelium Hybrid Traits
A shape-shifting vampire. What do you think will happen? :]Blood Thirst
You can drain blood and life energy from a willing creature, or one that is grappled by you, incapacitated, or restrained.
Make a melee attack against the target. If you hit, you deal 1 piercing damage and 1d6 necrotic damage. The target’s hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the necrotic damage taken, and you regain hit points equal to that amount.
The reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.
Age
Your aging slows to a halt. You are unable to age any further than the exact age you were when you became a vampire.
Hello, The Name's Alucard
During your first turn in combat you have advantage on attack rolls against any creature that does not know that you are a vampire.
Vampiric Fangs
Your teeth have grown in length and sharpness. You may use your sharp teeth as a natural weapon, whenever you hit with an attack you deal piercing damage equal to 1d4 plus your strength modifier. If a racial trait would result in you dealing unarmed bite.
Vampire Weakness
You have the following flaws:
Vampiric Nature. You are now considered both an undead and a humanoid. You retain all of your normal traits of your normal race.
Forbiddance. You can't enter a residence without an invitation from one of the occupants. A sign on the outside of a building saying something like "open for business" will also allow you to enter a building.
Harmed by Running Water. You take acid damage equal to twice your level if it ends its turn in running water. This acid damage ignores resistance and immunity to acid damage that may be granted by your base race.
Stake to the Heart. If a piercing weapon made of wood is driven into your heart while you are incapacitated in a place of rest, you become incapacitated until the stake is removed.
Sunlight Hypersensitivity. You take radiant damage equal to twice your level when you start your turn in sunlight. While in sunlight, you have disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks.
Darkvision
Being a vampire, your vision can easily cut through darkness. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and Vampire.
Ageless Body
As a vampire you do not age, can not be aged through any means (magical or normal), you have no need to eat, sleep, or drink. You do need to drink blood from a mortal every 72 hours or you will begin to suffer from one level of exhaustion every subsequent day.
Alignment
Cursed with evil and unforgivable power, most vampires surrender to their bloodlust and become evil. Very few are able to stave off their instinct and stay good or neutral.
Spider Climb
The vampire has advantage on ability checks to climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings. Climbing speed is equal to walking speed.
Changeling Instincts
