Homebrew Chinchilling Species Details

From the cold upper regions of the mountains, Chinchillings have a fine fur coat in shades of white, black, and gray. Their heads are narrowed with big eyes and a tiny nose. Their ears are large and velvety, twitching along with their long whiskers. Some have little nubs as tails while others have a sweeping length of at least a foot of length. These skittish beings can become overheated relatively easily because of the fur coat meant for the cool climate of the mountains. They also enjoy dust baths as their preferred bathing method and are often seen travelling with giant bags of fine dust.

Valley Chinchillings

Many generations ago, an explorer fell in love with the people and brought 11 of them down the mountains to live with the races there. Today, the ancestors of these Chinchillings are much larger than their kin, and can grow to be twice as tall.

Chinchillings reach maturity at 5 years, and often live up to 40 years

Size

Chinchillings are a medium creature, and naturally are around four feet tall, however Chinchillings dependent from the 11 stand at well over 6 feet tall.

Once per short rest, you may “fur slip” as a reaction and just go “no” to an attack on you that hits, as long as the hit is physical or has a touch range. This means the damage is nullified and you get 10 free feet of movement where enemies can not use an attack of opportunity

Chinchillings can not digest meat and therefore are vegetarian. Trying to survive on meat will not replenish your energy.

Nocturnal

Chinchillings tend to be nocturnal. You gain an additional 5ft. of movement during the night.

You can jump horizontally 5ft. times your strength modifier without needing to roll.

PP BB

You may shoot a slightly acidic, yellow liquid up to ten feet away from you that deals 1d4 acid damage to a creature it lands on.
