Homebrew Aberrant Dragonborn Species Details

a abnormally large version of a Dragonborn. while they are larger I am still trying to tune in the basic features and stats. The editing system does not make it terribly easy to do.

I was unable to locate an artists name tied to the image used. However several places have pointed out malformed features of the full artwork indicating it was likely AI generated. The plan is to have proper artwork done once I finish writing up a sheet for the description and details of the look.

Abnormality among the Dragonborn

Aberrant dragonborn are a rarity among the majority of dragon clans, its unknown as to what causes a dragonborn child to be born as an aberrant as its normally only noticed when they begin to outgrow the rest of the clutch. At around the age of 9 – 11 they reach their full size. While they are seen as useful among the clans for their size and strength. They are also seen as abnormal due to their overly large size, cursing them to be unable to use a traditional breath attack.

Because of the lack of a breath attack many Aberrant Dragonborn develop their skills in biting, clawing, and tail whipping their prey. And with their large size it proves to be a formidable weapon.

Workhorses of the Dragon Clans

Because of their large size, Aberrant Dragonborn tend to take on heavy labor tasks among the dragon clans. This can vary from doing lifting and generalized manual labor, to acting on the frontlines of fights in various roles. Because of the normality of being assigned to tough and risky tasks most Aberrant Dragonborn tend to eventually leave their clans later in life to seek out a different path away from the call of the clans.

Malformed Elemental Ability

Because of their abnormal growth in size, Aberrant Dragonborn are unable to use a traditional breath weapon. Instead they can enhance their bites, claws, or tail attacks with the same elemental powers of their kin. This enhancing power allows them to focus their attacks on a single target.
