Homebrew Ceramic soldier Species Details

Ceramic soldier are constructs from a bygone age, and do not resemble humanoids in a recognisable way beyond the fact that they have 4 limbs. These constructs were made for war and as such are tough and steady in their movement. Their outer layer is made of cermaic plating allowing them to endure the scorching heat of the desert that their creators made.

Ceramic soldier Traits

As a construct of war, made from ceramic plating you gain the following benefits:

Soldier's rest

Due to your construction you do not sleep like most people. When you take a long rest, you must spend at least six hours in an inactive, motionless state, rather than sleeping. In this state, you appear inert, but it doesn’t render you unconscious, and you can see and hear as normal.

Ceramic plating

Firstly Your Ceramic plating provides you with a base AC of 17 (your Dexterity modifier does not affect this number). Due to your bulk you can't wear light, medium, or heavy armor, but if you are using a shield, you can apply the shield's bonus as normal.

Additionally you plating gives you fire resistance to allow you to exsist in the extreme heat of your creators land.

Built for Rejuvination

If the Mending spell is cast on you, you can spend a Hit Die, roll it, and regain a number of hit points equal to the roll plus your Constitution modifier (minimum of 1 hit point). In addition, your creator designed you to benefit from several spells that preserve life but that normally don't affect Constructs: Cure Wounds, Healing Word, Mass Cure Wounds, Mass Healing Word, and Spare the Dying.

Programmend versatility

You gain two tool proficiencies of your choice, selected from the Player's Handbook.

Languages

You can speak, read and write archaic, and one additional languge of your choice that the DM deems appropriate.

Giant guantlets

Your gauntlet-like hands are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you can deal bludgeoning damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier.
