Homebrew Arachne Species Details
The arachne, presumably related in origin to driders, are curious specimen for they are spiders but not like your average spider, they are fully intelligent, conscious, beings with more thought then merely hunting and killing their prey. It is assumed they evolved hunting drow and drider. It is said they could lead bands of smaller spiders at one point, and they began mimicking them to the point they could become akin to drider, but instead of dark and depressing in appearance they have white fur on their base forme lower body with the occasional purple stripe length-wise and fair skin on their upper body with white, silky hair. At one point these arachne gained the ability to become bipedal, it is at this point it is presumed they became as they are now, with their bipedal forme having similar characteristics as to their base forme’s upper body. The silk of an arachne is of such fine quality that they are hunted for it with it still being unknown how they produce such silk. Many believe they are vestiges of lolth, but that is just folklore not to be believed by anyone with any level of intelligence.
