Homebrew Agaricus Myconid Species Details
Most myconids live exclusively in the Underdark, but some - including your character - are better adapted to surface life.
Age
Myconids grow quickly, maturing at about 3 years of age. They live for about 60 years.
Ability Score Increase
Your Constitution score increases by 1, and your Dexterity score or your Wisdom score increases by 2.
Alignment
Myconids believe that each member of a group should be productive and contribute to the whole, tending toward lawful and good alignments.
Size
Compared to typical myconids, Agaricus myconids can be tall, but their average and maximum height is still shorter than the typical human. They range from 1'6" to 5'10" tall, but average at about 5'. Your size is Small to Medium.
** Myconid races can be very tall, as usually their size is relative to their age, but for game play purposes the playable myconid races are normally medium at most.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 25 feet.
Darkvision
Myconids' eyes are well-adapted to seeing in dark caves. You have darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. Within that range, you can see in dim light as though it were bright light, and in darkness as though it were dim light.
Sunlight Sensitivity
You have disadvantage on wisdom (perception & survival) and intelligence (investigation) checks that rely on sight when you, the target of your attack, or whatever you are trying to perceive is in direct sunlight.
Mycetic Resistance
You are resistant to poison damage and have advantage + proficiency on saves to resist the poison condition.
** Myconids cannot be poisoned by fungal related poisons.
Rapport Spores
As an action, you can emit spores in a 10'-radius sphere around yourself, and a 15' cone. These spores spread around corners and can affect only creatures with an Intelligence of 2 or higher and that aren't undead, constructs, or elementals. Fungi (and Fungi related creatures) and spore druids can communicate telepathically with one another while they are within 30 feet of each other, other affected creatures can understand the messages. The effect lasts for 1 hour.
The cone extends to 20' at level 10 and 30' at level 15.
Distress Spores
When you take damage, all other creatures affected by your rapport spores within 240 feet of you can sense your pain. All enemy creatures take a third (rounded down) of the incoming damage as necrotic damage.
The outgoing damage increases to 1/2 at level 15.
-The spores of a myconid are an extension of itself and attack those who attack the main body by decomposing them.
Paralytic Spores
As an action, you can eject spores at one creature you can see within 15 feet of you. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or be stunned for 2 rounds. On a successful save the creature is stunned for 1 round. The DC for this saving throw is equal to 8 + the myconid's proficiency bonus + Constitution modifier.
You can use this feature the same number of times as your proficiency bonus, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
Starting at 5th level, you regain the use of this trait after finishing a short or long rest.
Spore Strikes
Your attacks deal an additional 1d4 poison damage on a hit.
Starting at level 7 if the d4 dice roll a 4, the target is poisoned.
Languages
You can understand Common and Undercommon. You can communicate by the fungal network to fungi or fungi related races.
