Homebrew Archoborne Species Details

The Archoborne, named after their traits that resemble Dinosaurs, are a very primitive species. Although some Archoborne have managed to fit into society as very cultured individuals, most others cannot suppress their primal instincts. Archoborne are very skilled hunters and are a bit more technically advanced than Lizardfolk, who look very similar to Archoborne but are not the same species. Most Archoborne don't have the brute strength that other reptilian looking creatures usually have, but they certainly have the speed; being able to clock in at a maximum of 11 to 12 mph if healthy and fit. Although Archoborne are faster than humans already on land, they're vastly more agile in water; being able to reach a max speed of at least 13 mph while swimming. Archoborne, although having dominated both land and water regarding agility, are not good climbers whatsoever. Due to the Archoborne's long but delicate talons, they cannot climb without chipping them. The talons that Archoborne's have can be deadly weapons however. The teeth of the Archoborne are small, serrated, and are covered by a lip similar to that of modern reptiles like Skinks or Monitor Lizards. These teeth are ideal for ripping off chunks of meat from food, or carcasses in a more primal case, and are often cleaned by the Archoborne's own saliva. A bite from an Archoborne is not venomous, fatal, or very deadly, but will cause excessive bleeding; too many bites can cause an individual to pass out due to loss of blood. Archoborne are rather tidy creatures regarding personal hygiene, and often preen the feathers and plumage along their arms, chest, ankles, and tail-tip. The feathering comes in a variety of colors such as light red, white, dark brown, caramel, light blue, and many others. The scaly skin of the Archoborne are usually a dark color in contrast to their feathers, examples might be: light red feathers and dark brown scales, white feathers and black scales, or yellow feathers and grey scales. The Archoborne are named after the group of animals known as "Archosaurs" which include Crocodiles, Alligators, Birds, and even Dinosaurs; which fits their reptilian and dinosaur-like characteristics.
