Homebrew Coicach Species Details

Appearance

Coicach have large ears, furry feet and long tails, they have rodent like features mostly resembling rats, mice and rabbits, they're noses are slightly pointed and have little snoots, their teeth are slightly longer near the front compared to humans, their height is generally shorter, in the 1m to1.40m range

Physiology

A Coicach's nose has a strong sense of smell, giving them a good way to find their way when not being able to see, or spot hiding predators, some magic using Coicach can even smell mana in the air Coicach are great at hearing with their large ears, being able to discern the location of a sound fairly accurately They are decent diggers able to big burrows over time to create houses or even entire villages underground, they can also use this to dig a small hole in the ground to hide in Tails are used mostly for carrying small things, they're not very strong but they can be used to keep your hands free, they're tails can also be used to discern a Coicach's mood These rodent like humanoids are herbivores eating mostly leaf like vegetables, though sometimes they can enjoy a nice fruit, when eating meat they get strong digestive problems draining mana and energy though one exception to this is dairy products Coicach are one of the longer lived species, living to be on average 150 but mature rather slowly being considered an adult at 25

Your Coicach character has certain characteristics in common with all other Coicach.

Poisonous Smell

You can smell when food is poisonous or inedible in any other way.

Burrow Bunker

You burrow into the ground and gain half cover (+2 to Ac and Dex Saving Throws.)

Tail Weight

You can carry up to 10 lbs of objects on your tail and use the object as long as it has a simple activation method. However using magic, wielding a weapon or using a tool with your tail is not possible.

Restrictive Diet

The Coicach are herbivores eating mostly leaf like vegetables, though sometimes they can enjoy a nice fruit. When eating meat they get strong digestive issue draining mana and energy. The one exception to this however is dairy products.

Expressive Tail

A Coicach's tail can be observed to determine its mood. However, the expressions are different for each Coicach.

Distinctive Snout

Coicach are great at hearing with their large ears, being able to discern the location of a sound fairly accurately. This grants them proficiency in Perception Checks that require hearing. 

Ability Score Increase

When determining your character’s ability scores, increase one score by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1. You can't raise any of your scores above 20.

 

Age

Coicach are one of the longer lived species, living to be on average 150 but mature rather slowly being considered an adult at 25

Their height is generally shorter, in the 1m to 1.40m range
