Homebrew Awakened Ghost Species Details

Typicaly the souls of a dead person, a Ghost can vary wildly from a invisible prescence or barely visible wisps to realistic lifelike forms, the awakened ghosts that is this race sit somewhere in the middle forced to be tied more to the physical realm than than that of the dead. What exactly causes someone to remain like this can vary wildly from a curse or mishap to simply the existence of ghosts as sentient beings in the world as the norm, whatever it may be these ghosts can find themselves adventuring often in aid to regain their old forms or to simply pass the time.

Awakened Ghost Traits

A semi-non-corporeal being tied to the physical world without losing their sentience to the undead curse.

Ability Score

Gain +1 Cha and Wis

 

Ghastly Nature

  • You do not require air, food, drink, or sleep.
  • You are immune to being poisoned, frightened, poison damage, necrotic damage, and diseases.
  • You are immune to any effects that would put you to sleep against your will.
  • You are counted as an undead for the puposes of spells and effects.
  • During a long rest you must spend 2 hours in a meditative state to gain its effects. During this state you are counted as paralyzed, you may however be awoken by someone else from this state at any time but must restart your medatative state to gain any effects from the long rest.

Darkvision

You can see up to 60ft in dim light as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light.

 

Languages

You can write, read and speak Common and Abyssal.

 

Movement Speed

You have 40ft walking speed and a matching flying speed.

 

Size

Ghosts typically are the same size they were in life usually medium or small.

 

Vulnerability

You are vulnerable to psychic damage as it threatens your ability to hold your form together in this plane.
