Homebrew Wyvernborn Species Details

Wyvernborn, if you can imagine, are related to wyverns. Despite their name, however, they are nowhere near the strength of true wyverns, and are rather a humanoid version, similar to Dragonborn.

Heritage

Like Dragonborn, Wyvernborn come in many different colors, though it is just cosmetic in their case. They are a humanoid version of Wyverns, though they have a shorter tail, snout, and horns. Their ‘arms’ are wyvern wings with claws on the end that function as hands- two fingers and a thumb.

Unlike Dragonborn, Wyvernborn don’t form clans- instead, they have flocks whose members usually tend to be of similar color. They don’t place quite as much value on these flocks as Dragonborn do on their clans, but still think of them as family and protect them.

Draconic Ancestry

You have wyvern ancestry. Unlike dragons, wyverns don't have a breath weapon. As such, you instead have a venomous stinger you may attack with, using either strength or dexterity. It deals 1d4 piercing damage at a range of 5ft, and causes the target to make a constitution saving throw. The DC is equal to 8 + your CON modifier + your proficiency bonus. If the target fails, they take an additional 1d4 poison damage. Both damages increase to 2d4 at 6th level, 3d4 at 11th level, and 4d4 at 16th level.

Languages

You can speak Draconic and one language of your choice.
