Homebrew avi-elf Species Details

Millennia ago before elven folk migrated to the material plane. Groups of elves jealous of arch-fays wings attempted to obtain them, some tried to steal them, some try to bargain with the arch-fay, but their fate was mostly the same wings gained, but banished to the material plane never to return home to the fay wild. this is the story of the avian elves.

though many many generations of breading with normal elves, their genetic pool was diluted thus avian elves turned into avi-elves.

avi-elves tend to live in large civilizations like large walled, enclosed city's. they have a strict social hierarchy; the ave-elves born with no wings are seen as lowest class doing manual labor. raven winged ones are the next up they are commoners and the majority of the population. there are 2 royal houses of winged elves dragon wings and butterfly wings. 

tales have been told abut ave-elves who regained the ability to fly. as ave elves level up their wings grow and they start to gain ability's related to their wings

As an avi-elf, you have these special traits.

Darkvision

You have Darkvision with a range of 60 feet.

Fey Ancestry

You have Advantage on saving throws you make to avoid or end the Charmed condition.

Keen Senses

You have proficiency in the Insight, Perception, or Survival skill.

Trance

You don’t need to sleep, and magic can’t put you to sleep. You can finish a Long Rest in 4 hours if you spend those hours in a trancelike meditation, during which you retain consciousness.

Wings

3       || when falling in an area with a 15ft Diameter or more you can extend your wings and take no fall damage. (8ft wing span)
5       || you gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed, while flying your carrying capacity is halved. (12ft wing span)
7       || your carrying capacity is no longer halved when you fly (16ft wing span)
9       || your flying speed is now 1.5x your walking speed (20ft wing span)
13     || your carrying capacity is 2x as high when your flying (28ft wing span)
15     || your flying speed is 2x your walking speed (32ft wing span)
19     || your flying speed is 3x your walking speed (40ft wing span)

wing span is: <level>ft + 2ft (for body width, etc) *2ft (because 2 wings)
