Homebrew Treant Species Details

Throughout the world there are many forests. Each one of them are alive. If the forest is in danger it calls upon its fabled warrior - The Treant. Treants are the top of nature accomplishments. The Forest Guardians, as the Treants are called, dwell in the forest until they are needed. After they are awoken, they protect the forest by any means necessary. Once the danger has passed, the Treant will return to the forest and sleep until needed once more.

Forest's Protectors

The Treants are bound to protect the forest. They are known as great magical beings. Very few adventures are lucky enough to witness a Treant in their lives. Seeing one is a sign of good luck by the god Silvanus. It is thought that Silvanus hand picks the trees to awaken into Treants.

The danger the forest senses could be inside the forest itself or could be across the world. Treants will travel only to sleep and regain the nutrients of the world. If needed the Treant will befriend other sleeping Treants to help.

Sense of Danger

Treants are awoken knowing the danger that threatens their forest. They have the knowledge of what the danger is and a crude way to get rid of it. Treants will help adventures if it feels like they will be of use eliminating the danger to the forest.

Treant Names

Treants are not awoken with names. If they learn about names from passing adventures they may take on one. Treants are very proud beings and hold their names very highly. Do not make fun of a Treant's name.

If a Treant talks to another Treant from another region of forest they will call them by their subrace.  EX: A Temperate Treant would call a Tropical Treant, Tropical. Treants will call most races "Soft-Skin". Unless they know their name. Once you tell a Treant their name they will never forget it as they regard names as honorable.

Birth Names: Treants can take on a name if they learn about them but are awoken with none.

Clan Names: Treants refer to other subraces as the subrace.
