Homebrew Canibi Species Details

Found throughout the multiverse, Canibi are varied in not only personality but also in their breed, coats, and jobs. They're seen as nothing more than the common house pet or worker causing a low reputation of the creatures regardless of their advanced capabilities of emotion and thought

Canibi are commonly found around humans or around those with richer endeavors as they are commonly traded amongst their "Masters" or their employers. Canibi are mistreated frequently, but due to their naturally trusting and kind nature, don't have the capability of understanding what exactly is happening to them. Canibi are hardly ever educated beyond the basics of life such as capability to speak and do the basic house chore, some don't even know how to write. Canibi have a natural societal ranking amongst one another where they aspire to reach the top.

Old Hairs - The Canibi Elders, they typically are unowned and are actually not even know by the majority of the Canibi species, being excluded from the pyramid unless enlightened. They tell stories of how their ancestors and humans worked alongside one another rather than working for the humans.

Police Dogs - Highest level of honor that a Canibi can have in the common social hierarchy. It's the typical job that the Canibi species aspires to be, allowing them to not only serve their Masters but save other's Masters as well.

Therapy Dogs - A high honor for many Canibi, you have the capability to not only speak but also write and draw with usually younger humans, your Masters are typically the richer parents of the child you take care of. Imagine not only being a therapist, but also a housemaid or butler.

Worker Dogs - This is the group of Canibi that see themselves as better than all other Canibi as they have an "actual job" and do hard work for their Masters. Typically these are Canibi who do physical labor such as chopping wood, working in factories, and construction.

Breeders - These are the Canibi that are recruited into "The Pound" as the Canibi call it where they are continuously bred with one another to raise children for future Masters. These children are already born into servitude. The females are commonly shy and embarrassed while the males are sexual and far too loud for their own good.

Common Canibi - This is, as the name suggests, the most common Canibi, they are usually just Canibi who do common household chores and work for the middle class, they're fairly affordable and are usually smaller in stature. These are the stereotypical "man's best friend".

Man's Worst Friend - These are the Canibi who were abandoned or ran away from their Masters, these are criminals as seen by other Canibi and the Masters who own the Canibi. They are typically on the run and are rarely spotted anywhere near any sort of society that believes in the social hierarchy.

Iupans - These are the social outcasts of the Canibi world. They're the subspecies of Canibi who live in tribes and packs in caves and are extremely territorial to those who tread on their land. They are more wolfish in their appearance and are terrifying to the Canibi because their Masters tell them stories of how many Canibi have been eaten alive by the Iupans when they run away from their Masters.

Canibi Names

Canibi take cues from their common ancestors and are given names by their Masters after coming from The Pound, these names follow the stereotypical dog rules, only having a first name usually tying to the Master's want of a specific job or based off of their appearance. Common names may include...

Goldie, Bones, Digger, Killer, Brutus, Sadie, Spots, etc.

Canibi Personality

Canibi are extremely subservient to their "Masters" or "Owners", willing to lay their lives down just for them to remain safe and alive. This is due to the maltreatment of the species as a whole by those who own them and the lack of teaching that they are provided. They're fiercely loyal to whoever will take them in and call them their own. Canibi possess similar thoughts and desires as their ancestors as well, responding extremely well to praise and reprimands, though unlike their ancestors, they are allowed to be hit and abused if the owner sees fit.

True Friends

If you so happen to encounter a wild Canibi outside of a town, which alone is very rare, they will typically be very willing to cling onto you and treat you as their Master inherently. They see their main purpose in life to be that of serving whoever they can. Though with time, they can be taught to act as more than just a servant, butler, or maid, and instead become a truly loyal and individualistic friend. They just need to be enlightened.

Unbreakable Trust

It takes a lot to break a Canibi's trust, due to their species being very durable they are commonly hurt physically, mentally, and emotionally, but because of their natural desire to serve and please, they have an undeniable amount of trust in just about everyone and everything besides that of the Iupans. You can typically expect a Canibi with just about any secret so long as you're their master.

Natural Instincts

Canibi, due to being descendants from the common dog, still possess those needs and desires that dogs used to have. These include that of, hanging their head out of the carriages to catch wind, their tails wagging and tucking behind their legs whenever excited or ashamed, their eyes dilating slightly when they see something they like, their constant panting when they're tired to cool themselves off, their affinity for being pet and receiving rubs on their bodies, whimpering when desiring something, and begging for food.
