Homebrew Dracudo Species Details
Born from something old and powerful, Dracudos are the culmination of draconic powers and earthen strength formed into one being. They may have been born from the bonds between an ancient earth deity and a dragonborn, or from the draconic influence and essence choosing a goliath host, or may even be the descendants of one of the first primordial dragons, with their colossal size and power inherited from their bloodline. Regardless of how they came to be, Dracudos are revered, and sometimes feared, for their immense strength and capabilities.
Dracudo Traits
Dracudos have the following species features:Age
With ancient draconic blood in their veins, Goliath Dragonborns mature quite quickly. Walking shortly after their hatching, they mature to adulthood around 16 years of age, and reach their peak size and build by the time they are 20 years of age. Goliath Dragonborns can live to be around 300 years old.
Alignment
Given their erratic nature and power, Dracudos are usually some form of chaotic alignment, whether they be good, evil, or simply neutral. Their ties to the depths of the planet grant them an unpredictable essence.
Size
You are considered Large for the purposes of movement, carrying capacity, and spacing. They typically grow to a size of between 10 ft to 14 ft tall, and can weigh up to 2,000 lbs.
Speed
Your base movement speed is 40ft.
Ability Score Increase
Your Constitution score increases by 2 and your Strength score increases by 1.
Draconic Power
Your connection to the old draconic lineage in your blood fuels you with some of its capabilities. You can use an action to unleash a breath weapon attack that deals Force damage. When you use your breath weapon, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your draconic ancestry. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level. After you use your breath weapon, you can’t use it again until you complete a short or long rest.
Ancient Endurance
Your connection to the strength of the ancients reinforces your hide at times. When you take damage, you can use a reaction to roll a d8. Add your Constitution modifier to the total, and reduce the damage taken from the incoming attack by that amount. Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Behemoth Warrior
Most weapons are crafted for smaller folk than you, making wielding them much easier for yourself. You are able to wield weapons that normally require two-hands to wield, with one hand instead.
