Homebrew Chanterelle Species Details

Spawned in the magical forests of an ancient living, breathing planet, the first Chanterelles cultivated a society of lively forest guardians. Created from fungal lifeforms, they have no gender and are capable of asexual reproduction. Living mostly in small, settled communities called Clusters,  Chanterelle cultures tend to be collectivist in nature and all young spores, or Gametes are considered the equal responsibility of the entire cluster.

All Chanterelles are connected to each other via a deep mycelium network known as the Flow. This can be used not only to communicate vital information across large areas, but also to transfer nutrients and even vaccinations between nearby plants; ensuring that everyone in the forest is taken care of and a harmonious balance is maintained. Once a young Chanterelle enters adulthood, their connection to the Flow is further strengthened as they gain access to an even deeper level known as the Ebb. The Ebb extends across the entire multiverse and is the eternal collective conscious of all Chanterelles who have ever existed and will ever exist. Chanterelles are sometimes able to draw on this sea of shared experience to assist them in new or difficult situations.
