Their creators gve you one primary objective that you must fulfill to the best of your ability. Be it defending others or killing a particular creature, when performing the action they may choose to gain advantage on the roll. They can only do this once per long rest.

An automation's metal body has some advantages. They gain +2 to strength and an additional +2 to AC. However, their looks and voice aren't necessarily appealing, so they lose -2 charisma. Also, poison cannot affect them.

Their creators installed a mode for when they become heavily damaged. When they are at low HP, they get a bonus +2 to AC and incoming damage is reduced by 10%, rounded up.

Their creators also commonly install a self-repair module. As an action, they can heal 1d4 + their proficiency bonus per level. This action recharges once per short rest. Additionally, you may completely heal yourself through this during a short rest.
