Homebrew Demon Species Details

Demons from hell are often depicted as malevolent, supernatural beings that embody chaos, evil, and destruction. They are said to serve dark forces or the ruler of hell, often depicted as Satan or a similar figure. Visually, demons are portrayed in various terrifying forms, with grotesque, monstrous features—sharp claws, horns, wings, fangs, and glowing, fiery eyes. Their bodies may be covered in scales, grotesque armor, or decayed flesh, sometimes emitting smoke or flames to symbolize their infernal origin.

 

In many traditions, demons possess powers like shape-shifting, mind control, and the ability to manipulate darkness or fire. They are said to feed on fear, suffering, and the souls of the damned. Often described as tempters of mankind, demons aim to corrupt, deceive, or possess humans, luring them into sin or eternal damnation. Hell itself is portrayed as a realm of eternal torment, a burning abyss where these beings thrive, ruling over the condemned souls with cruelty and delight.

Darkvision

Thanks to your infernal heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Hellish Resistance

You have resistance to fire damage.

Infernal Legacy

You know the thaumaturgy cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the hellish rebuke spell as a 2nd-level spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the darkness spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
