Homebrew Anomaly Species Details

At the loneliest places — where the air is thin and the frigid winds howl, where the sun doesn't shine, where life cannot thrive, where reality seems to unravel — dwell the enigmatic, reclusive Anomalies. Few folk  have encountered an Anomaly, and much, much fewer still live to tell the tale. Anomalies wander the realms of cold, darkness, silence, radiation. Some of their bodies look as if they are carved from stone, some look like they aren't meant to exist, some a macabre mess of what once was, some look like they shouldn't still be alive, and some look just plain wrong. Their spirits/bodies are said to had belonged to something or someone else before they became what they are now.

Survival of the Fittest

Among Anomalies, any who can’t change is doomed. A permanently injured Anomaly is still expected to adapt, mutate, morph, or change. Typically, such an Anomaly dies attempting to keep up.

Misconceptions

There are some species/races thought to be a part of or a subspecies of Anomalies, even though they aren't, a few thought to be so include, but aren't limited to; Quantums, Elder Brains, Voidlings, Gibbering Abominations,  Amalgamations, demogorgons, Liches, etc.

Anomaly Names

Every Anomaly has multiple names: a birth name assigned by the newborn’s mother and father, which is usually forgotten or erased; a nickname assigned by locals in the form of folklore, a legend, or a way to describe it, and a fake name for unknown purposes.
