Homebrew Arn Frogfolk Species Details

Frogfolk
Frogfolk are humanoids found in across and deep in the tropical jungles around the continent of Eikos, and sometimes in other worlds. Their personalities can vary as broadly as most other species, but often find themselves inclined to form groups that work together to accomplish community goals.

Tree-Dwelling Amphibians. Frogfolk live in trees and prefer shade. Frogfolk hatcheries are maintained in well-guarded ground-level pools or in the many rivers, lakes, and swamps that are spread throughout the jungles of Eikos. Frogfolk age at roughly the same rate as most other humanoids after their time growing in the hatchery.

Colors and Patterns. The colors of the Frogfolk are a badge of pride that identify their lineage and the past communities that they have come from. At the time of their hatching, a Frogfolk elder will divine the future of the hatchling based upon not only its color, but the patterns that cover it, helping to shape their future.

There are arcane rituals and practices that are practiced by the Frogfolk elders that can be used to change or alter a Frogfolk's color and pattern that may alter its perceived destiny, and it is rumored that times of great strife or life altering experiences can cause this to occur naturally.

Naturally Toxic. Frogfolk have the ability to secrete a toxic poison unique to themselves that has no effect on the one that secretes it. Other creatures find it to be exceptionally effective when they come into contact with it and can even experience mild hallucinations while under its effects.
