Homebrew Arn Fishfolk Species Details
Fishfolk
The Fishfolk that inhabit the world of Arn vary in many different ways among the various groups that exist in terms of scale colors, cultures, traditions, and biomes. Those that inhabit the jungles of Eikos often live alongside or near the Frogfolk, as they occupy similar types of landscapes and have friendly working relationships amongst each other. These aquatic warriors come from a long and proud lineage that values skillfulness in whatever form and place it appears.
Fishfolk have colorful scales and exhibit a wide array of scale patterns. Their individual facial features are as varied as those of fish in the sea.
Arn Fishfolk Traits
As a Fishfolk, you have the following racial traits.Creature Type
You are a Humanoid.
Size
You size is either Small or Medium.
Speed
Your walking speed is 30 feet, and you have a swimming speed equal to your walking speed.
Adaptive Gills
You can breathe air and water.
Fishfolk Flexibility
The Fishfolk are known for their great skill in a number of arenas. They value it in all of its forms and see displays of great skill as a mark of achievement. You represent a very skillful member of your species, and as such you gain proficiency in two skills of your choice.
Fishscale Armor
Your scales are more than just aesthetic, they can also shield you from harm. When you aren’t wearing armor, your base AC is 13 + your Dexterity modifier. You can use your natural armor to determine your AC if the armor you wear would leave you with a lower AC. A shield’s benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.
Fishscale Resilience
Over time, and with new experiences, your scales have become even more resilient. This allows you to resist oncoming damage with incredible accuracy. When you take damage you can use your reaction to gain resistance to the triggering damage type until the start of your next turn. If there is more than one type of damage that triggers this reaction, you choose which type you resist. You can use this reaction a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain all uses on a long rest.
