Homebrew Calamaren Species Details
Calamarens are a rare and unusual race of cephalopod-like humanoids that live primarily underwater or far out in the vast seas. A mostly solitary people, Calamaren society is made up of hundreds of small tribes, villages, and communities scattered far and wide. The most commonly seen Calamarens are most similar in appearance to that of a squid, but other Calamarens can take on the traits of octopus, cuttlefish, or even nautilus.
Intelligent and Alien
Calamarens as a people are highly variable in their appearance. Some look more like a collection of tentacles formed into the general shape of a humanoid, while others look almost human save for a tentacle-riddled head. One of the most intelligent of all races, these strange people of the deep use their quick thinking and many talents to survive in an otherwise unforgiving world.
Calamaren Names
Calamaren names don't always translate into Common too well. Their names are often a collection of vowels with misplaced consonants seemingly smashed together.
