Homebrew Mustelan Species Details

Mustelans can be found throughout every corner of the world, from rivers to forests to deserts to mountains and valleys. They are curious explorers with a drive for adventure and their wanderlust cannot be matched.

Tenacious and Nimble

Mustelans live in large communal dens that can range from a few dozen to a couple hundred strong. As a result, Mustelans highly value both family and community.

Mustelans are covered in dense, soft fur that can be anything from pure white to black and every shade in between. Mustelans have long, slender bodies with short but powerful arms and legs. Some Mustelans come equipped with large claws or sharp fangs.

Most Mustelans have dark colored eyes from brown to black and the skin beneath their fur is often pink to tan.

Mustelan Traits

Nimble, flexible, and curious, Mustelans have what it takes to be excellent adventurers.

Age

Mustelans reach maturity quickly, but otherwise age at roughly the same pace as humans. They live to around 120 years old.

Size

Mustelans come in a wide variety of sizes. You are Medium or Small. You choose the size when you select this race.

Speed

Despite their short legs, Mustelans are rather fleet of foot. Your walking speed is 30 feet. Additionally, some Mustelans are great swimmers, while others can climb or burrow. Choose among swimming, climbing, or burrowing. The chosen speed is equal to your walking speed.

Languages

Highly sociable creatures, Multelans tend to pick up the languages of other cultures around them. Your character can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.

Quick Feet

Mustelans have short, compact legs that allow them to make quick, agile movements. You have proficiency in both stealth and acrobatics.

Flexible Body

Mustelans have long, slender bodies ideal for moving through tight spaces with ease. You can move through other creatures' space and you can squeeze through spaces as little as one third your size. Moving while squeezing does not impart disadvantages on attack rolls or ability checks and you can move without a penalty to your speed while squeezing.

Tunnel Runner

With their low profiles, Mustelans have the perfect bodies for traversing through tunnels, nooks, and crannies. Standing up from prone only takes 5 feet of your movement speed (lying down to go prone takes no movement). Crawling whilst prone does not require any additional movement and your attacks do not suffer disadvantage while you are prone.
