Homebrew Bunnyfolk Species Details

Walking in a ferosious, world, often dominated and intimidated by stronger races, Bunnyfolk are often seen as prey or weak to the stronger predators. Bunnyfolk combine what some say are the best qualities of human human curiosity, nobility, and loyalness tempered by the refined senses, love of nature, and animal instincts of the their preyed ancestors. Some bunnyfolk live among humans. Others live in forests, small villages or other quiet spaces, where they feel secure and out of harm. Many bunnyfolk, unable to fit into either society, choose lives of solitary wandering or join with in the adventuring life to - most of the time - make profit for their poor villages or families, due to their (mostly) isolated lifestyle in the wilderness.

Of A Unique World

To humans, bunnyfolk look like humanoid rabbits. In height, they range from 4 feet to about 6 feet tall, and from 40 to 80 pounds, with men only slightly taller and heavier than women. They tend to have fur or eye colors rather unusual for rabitts or bunnies, due to their mix with human blood. They´re just as smart as humans but tend to be sometimes rather forgetful. It is said that no other race can beat their cuteness, well maybe besides catfolk.

Settlers or Wanderers

Bunnyfolk have small lands of their own and are welcome in human cities and forestic villages, due to their afinity with nature. In large cities in regions where bunnyfolk and humans interact often, bunnyfolk are sometimes numerous enough to form small communities of their own. They enjoy the company of other bunnyfolk or humans.
They are normally very nice and calm to tiny, small and medium races, yet very distrustful with others bigger than medium size due to their preyish instincts.

In most parts of the world, though, bunnyfolk are rather uncommon enough that one might live for years without meeting another one. Some bunnyfolk prefer to avoid company altogether, wandering the wilds as foresters or adventurers and visiting civilization only rarely. Like humans, they are driven by the wanderlust that comes of their longevity. Others, in contrast, throw themselves into the thick of society, putting their charisma or and social skills to great use in diplomatic roles or as swindlers, due to their loveful or "cute" and trustfull nature.

 

 

Bunnyfolk Traits

Your Bunnyfolk character has some qualities in common with humans and some that are unique to Bunnyfolk.

Quick Feet

You can dash as a bonus action on each of your turns. If you dash in this way, you cannot also use your action to dash on the same turn.

Springy Legs

You double the distance you can high and long jump. In addition when you take falling damage, you ignore 10 feet of the distance fallen.

Ability Score Increase

Your Charisma score increases by 2, and two other ability scores of your choice increase by 1.

Age

Bunnyfolk live shorter lives than humans reaching maturity around age 10 and live up to about 60. However Half-Bunnyfolk Half-human speciments mature at the same rate humans do reach adulthood around the age of 18 and live around the same timespan as a human does.

Size

Bunnyfolk are normally a bit smaller than humans, ranging from 4 to 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet and you have a burrow speed of 10 feet.

Darkvision

Thanks to your animal blood, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 30 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Rigid Dicipline

You have advantage on saving throws against being frightened.

Keen Hearing

You gain advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Kin-Speak. Kin-Speak is a language known by many anthropomorphic humanoids.
