Homebrew Bullywug Species Details

Bullywugs were a primitive race of frog-like humanoids found throughout the bogs and marshes of Toril, the self-proclaimed lords of the swamp. Savage and self-destructive, the bullywugs regularly tampered with forces beyond their understanding, threatening the safety of others and their own brutish, noisome, and wet lives.

Foul inhabitants of the natural world, Bullywugs have a number of adaptations that have allowed them to eke out a soggy dominion in swamps and wetlands.

You can breathe air and water.

Speak with Frogs and Toads

All Bullywugs are born speaking Bullywi, a language spoken and understood by frogs and toads. You can communicate simple concepts to these beasts.

Standing Leap

Your jump is up to 20 feet long and up to 10 feet high, with or without a running start. 

Slimy Skin

You have advantage on Strength (Athletics) and Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks to escape or resist a grapple.

Tongue-lash

So long as the use of your tongue is not inhibited, your unarmed strikes are considered to have the reach property. Additionally, you can make minor interactions with your tongue, such as activating buttons, casting touch spells or retrieving small items, from a distance of up to 10 feet.

Swamp Camoflauge

You have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks in swampy terrain, and you may take the Hide action when lightly obscured by murky water.
